Champion of Champions

Takeru Kobayashi
Kobayashi:Champion of Hot Dog Eating Contest.

Takeru Kobayashi has done it again. In his unprecedented five consecutive triumphs at the Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest put him on the hall of fame of all hot dog eating contest. His recent victory in New York’s Coney Island held on every July 4, he managed to sealed his title again by sucking down 49 frankfurters in 12 minutes. Now this is crazy! And this guy stands 1.67 m and weighs only 65 kg! Although he won this year contest, this 27 year old Japanese dude missed out his own world record of 53½ dogs which was set at last year’s contest. Now that’s a lot of dogs!!

Lance Armstrong
Armstrong: Six-time Tour de France champion.

Lance Armstrong, the six-time defending champion of Tour de France retains his Yellow Jersey. Although it’s not over yet, let’s hope Armstrong is his Discovery Channel Team will seal the title again on July 24, which is the last day of the race. Lance Armstrong was also suffering from an advanced testicular cancer that had spread to his lungs and his brain left him scarred physically and emotionally. He fought for his life and began an aggresive form of chemotherapy which miraculously showed signs of recovery. His gradual recovery allowed his thoughts to return to racing again. He then formed the Lance Armstrong Foundation within months of his diagnosis to help others with their cancer struggles. A champion and a true fighter.

Terence Goh

Terence Goh is in his 3rd month of quitting smoking. Besides having the ability to quit smoking, he is also holding the title for quitting drinking for the past 2 months. An act that deserves my utmost admiration for his will power and concentration. Terence was a victim of many mass drinking sessions, making headlines once on our local newspaper and also survived the dreadful time of falling into the drain. An experienced that left him scarred on the knees and a few bruises on his body. Although he failed many times to quit smoking and drinking but he never gave up. It was only recently he found himself and his true ability to be a true champion to all the upcoming ex-smokers and an ex-drunkards. Here’s to the champions!
