Capturing life at Merdeka Square

49 years after Merdeka and yet the spirit of Merdeka still lives on. MERDEKA! MERDEKA! MERDEKA! … yeahh… that feels great!

I didn’t set foot on Merdeka square on National Day since after my first Merdeka parade as a 6th Klang Sea Scouts member and as a member of Malaysian Scouts Association… and that was back in 1990.

16 years after, I decided to re-live my spirit of Merdeka. Though this year’s parade was held in Kuching, it never stop families from all walks of life to take a stroll at Dataran Merdeka. Yes it’s a public holiday, but it’s also the 49th anniversary of declaration of independence for Malaysia. Something which is for more meaningful to our parents and grandparents then to anyone of us who is still having hangovers from Merdeka eve’s party.

Not wanting to waste the most memorable day in National history, I woke up early, drove all the way to KL and start taking snapping away.

I’m just wondering…what’s most people doing on Merdeka morning?
