Crocodile Hunter is Dead!

Steve Irwin holding croc

The 44-year-old media personality and environmentalist, Steve ‘Corocdile Hunter’ Irwin died on Monday when a stingray barb punctured his chest while he was filming a nature documentary off the coast of Port Douglas in north Queensland.

Many of you may have seen him appearing on NatGeo channel on Astro. Stephen Robert “Steve” Irwin was an Australian environmentalist and television personality. He was best known for the television program The Crocodile Hunter, an unconventional wildlife documentary series which he hosted with his wife Terri Irwin. Irwin’s personality and outrageous antics in the series made him an international celebrity. He also owned and operated the Australia Zoo at Beerwah in Queensland.

Damn, I love this guy but sadly, he died doing what he loved best. I have learnt alot about wildlife from him. May his soul will rest in peace. My deepest condolence goes to his wife, Terri Irwin and his family.

Ironically, Steve was shooting a documentary for Animal Planet called “Ocean’s Deadliest”, a segment that concentrates on things that can kill you instantly.

He was struck by a stringray’s barb which instantly punctured his chest and his heart.
