No summons, more bribes?

No roadblocks, but more patrols - from TheStar.com.my

KUALA SELANGOR: There will be no roadblocks during the coming festive season but policemen will be on patrol.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan said they had decided against mounting roadblocks so that road users during the festive season could have a smooth journey.

However, more than 5,000 cops would patrol the highways and state roads to ensure safe driving.

“We do not want to slow down traffic and cause jams,” Tan Sri Musa Hassan said.

EQUIPMENT CHECK: Musa looking through a speed trap camera in Kuala Selangor yesterday.
“But we will stop those who flout the law and summon them on the spot. We will have 5,554 personnel on patrol.”

He added that more attention would be paid to the 417 “death stretches”, which include 222 on federal roads, 93 on state roads and 87 on highways.

Musa said the large force meant that all traffic policemen would be on duty, including federal traffic chief SAC (II) Nooryah Mohamed Anvar.

“The police must make its presence felt,” he said after launching the national road safety campaign.

“It is unfortunate that Malaysians don’t have internalised respect for traffic rules and regulations.

“Many, if they do not see policemen around, will do whatever they like.”

Asked about the perception held by some that policemen were on duty during the festive season because it was a way to cari makan (take bribes), Musa said the negative assumption was unfair.

He added that policemen had been directed to be more active during the festive seasons.

“It is unfair to have that negative perception. If drivers encounter such a situation, report it via our hotlines, Rakan Cop or at the nearest police station.”

There won’t be many road blocks… so we don’t really have to worry about getting summons. But however, you need to carry more cash just incase. RM50 is no longer enough. There are more of them patroling so you have to pay off more of them.

Why mention about the hotline when they don’t even bother to put up the Rakan Cop Hotline here in this article in The Star.

Somebody Save Me

… I got hooked on SMALLVILLE! Yes I know, the series has been out ages ago but I only got to watch it recently. I was trying to finish up Sex and The City which I never did. Somehow I just lost interest in Jessica Parker… haha.

Smallville

Anyways, my latest craze is Smallville… or more like Lanaville! This TV series is really good…really, but the main actress is even better! I would say Tom Welling did a great job as the young Superman but it was Kristin Kruek that stole my heart in Smallville. Hehe.

I’m very sure many of you have done fifth season of Smallville by now so I’m not gonna bother telling you about the story. But I do, however wish to introduce the casts of Smallville. Check out below for the casts of Smallville:

We have …

Lana Lang in Smallville
Lana Lang, Lana Lang again… Lana here… there’s Lana again and Lana too… and and.. hmm…more Lanas!

Yes! Lana Lang is young Clark Kent’s sweetheart back in Smallville. But then again, there’s Chloe… which is quite hot looking too. These two hot chics will be around for the next 4 seasons… until Louis Lane appears.

There’s no reason why not to love Lana especially when she’s got a hot bod! You gotta check out Lana’s hot bod!

Lana in Season 1

For those who haven’t started watching Smallville, don’t ask me in which season is this. Not telling! You gotta go watch it yourself. Trust me… it’s worth it!

Since I started watching late, I’ve been watching it late too… I mean late at night. Can’t help it if I’m always out. I’ve only got the series up to Season 4. Anyone out there with Season 5?

Save Me (Smallville Theme Song) Lyrics
Remy Zero Lyrics

I feel my wings have broken
In your hands
I feel the words unspoken
Inside
When they pull you under
And I would give you any thing you want
You were all I wanted
All my dreams are falling down
Crawling round and round and round

Somebody save me
Let your waters break right through
Somebody save me
I don’t care how you do it
Just save, save
Come on
I’ve been waiting for you

I see the world has folded in your heart
I feel the waves crash down inside
And they pull me under
And I would give you anything you want
You were all I wanted
All my dreams have fallen down
Crawling round and round and round

Somebody save me
Let your waters break right through
Somebody save me
I don’t care how you do it
Just save, save
Come on
I’ve been waiting for you

All my dreams are on the ground
Crawling’ round and round and round

Somebody save me
Let your waters break right through
Somebody save me
I don’t’ care how you do it
Just save me, save me
I’ve made this whole world shine for you
Just save, save
Come on
I’m still waiting for you

Ever wonder why some policeman drives kancil?

… because they can’t drive any bigger car. That’s why!

I read this on today’s newspaper:

Police car kills senior citizen crossing road - from Thestar.com.my

MORNING MISHAP: Policemen directing traffic at the site where Chan (inset) was killed in Falim, Menglembu, yesterday morning. Chan’s body lies under a black plastic bag in the background.

IPOH: A 59-year-old man was killed in an accident involving a police patrol car while he was crossing an unlit road at Falim, near here, yesterday.

The incident allegedly happened while Chan Kam Weng, from Buntong, was on his way home with his favourite dim sum at about 6.20am.

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Jalaludin Ibrahim said the policeman driving the car, who began duty at 6am, had claimed it was dark and he could not see the pedestrian crossing the road.

ACP Jalaludin said the case was still being investigated. Chan’s body has since been sent to the Ipoh Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem.

A police officer was on his duty early in the morning when he ‘accidentally’ hit and kill this man in Ipoh. It was 6.20am and the officer claim that it was still early and it was dark then?

Take a look at the picture above and you can tell that something is wrong!! Very wrong! It looks like the incident happened on a trunk road. Now look at the windscreen on the police car, badly smashed! It can only happen if the vehicle is going on a high speed. So it’s 6.20am and it’s dark … so what? Don’t have head lights ah? Cannot drive slower ah?! WTF!!!!

I hope whoever is guilty won’t go unpunish. This is so wrong. The police warn us to be careful on the road; to drive at slower speed especially near festive seasons. Well, look who’s talking! I seriously hate it when they get really ‘active’ only when it’s near festive season.

DOTA the legit way

For the past 3 year I’ve been hooked on DOTA. I started out with DOTA Classic on WarCraft 3: Reign of Choas before I moved on to The Frozen Throne. Thanks to baba, Mr. Damien Yong for introducing this game to me; I haven’t stop playing it ever since.

We used to play for hours at HORUS Cafe in SS2. Then we moved on to play on Battlenet. Problem with playing on Battlenet is that I need to have a original CD key to play online…which I have none. Then someone gave me some CD keys, I got into Battlenet for awhile but after a few times playing it, I can no longer use it because someone else is using the same CD key. That didn’t stop me, soon I learn how to rip CD keys and use NO-CD cracks. Warez rules!

I was on a warez spree for the next 2-3 years. Everytime there’s a new patch for Battlenet, all I need to do is to look for new NO-CD cracks again. This has become quite a annoying routine especially when you feel like playing most but you don’t seem to be able to find any cracks. So I finally decided to do the right thing.

I finally purchased a legit copy of WarCraft 3 Battle Chest set. It consists of 2 installer CDs, ROC and TFT and 3 manuals. Most importantly is that I have got my very own CD key! No more sharing and no more being a crook!
