Given that the phone will be locked into Cingular's network in the USA and the fact that you have to look at the phone to use it, it seems like overkill. Besides, reports suggest that the iphone won't be available in asia until 2008, which means there is a good chance that the competition will try and copy some of its features. Besides, a phone is only as good as the calls it makes and we will just have to see if apple's first phone can actually make phone calls.
