Review : Unboxing Of HTC Desire (Part 1)

The much anticipated HTC Desire has reached the shores of Malaysia and thanks to Maxis; I have the privilege to review this device first hand. The much talk about HTC Desire closely follows the success of its elder brother, the HTC Legend but packed with a much bigger punch. This Android powered smartphone is also frequently compared with its common twin, the Nexus One, although both share almost similar hardware, it is believed that the HTC Desire do live up its given name. Here’s where I step in, to provide my feedbacks and opinions from an end- user point of view.

Over the years, I’ve been really impressed with HTC’s growth and their vision to bring people, not just better devices, but better human experience with all their devices; the HTC Desire is such a device.

Having the HTC Desire box in my hand makes me feel like I a kid again, eagerly waiting to unwrap and tear open the box to unveil the goodie I’m about to get.

Check out this video of me unboxing the spanking brand new HTC Desire.

First Impression
The HTC Desire is definitely dressed to impress. The metallic bronze surface of the phone is absolutely gorgeous and every inch of the device is perfectly crafted. I especially like the signature curve, not too curvy but moderate enough to give some character. The HTC Desire is also a slim line candybar form phone and it weighs exactly like the iPhone 3G. I also like the optical joystick which is flat as compared to the traditional trackball on Nexus One; it works the same, if not better. Overall, the HTC Desire looks great. The 3.7 inch AMOLED is just huge and the finishing is tastefully done; I just can’t wait to boot it up soon.

Inside The Box
The HTC Desire in-a-box from Maxis comes with a standard USB data cable cum charger, headphone set with built-in mic and remote, a pair of ear bud covers and clip, a 1400 mAh Lithium-ion rechargeable battery, manuals and the warranty card and not forgetting the wall socket universal adapter charger.

What is in the box?

Well, it always a good practice to give the battery a full charge. Do come back here again as I will go through the HTC Desire features and functions in my next post.

As for now, I’ll leave you with some still shots of the HTC Desire.

Desirable, isn’t it?
