Gary Neville got an heroic send-off as old pals played for the defender’s testomonial. It couldn’t be any more perfect than this.
The famous ‘Class of 95’ were reunited once more to play together at the Theatre of Dreams with an estimated of 42,000 turned up to cheer off the great Gary Neville, 36, who announced his retirement earlier this year.
The Golden Generation – line-up of stars alongside coach Eric Harrison includes, from left to right, Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt, David Beckham, Gary Neville, Phil Neville and Paul Scholes
Even David Beckham flew back from LA and was all smiles as he posed for photos alongside Reds legends past and present and not forgetting old boss Sir Alex Ferguson.
It’s always a happy moment to see old friends reunited. Ryan Giggs put all allegations of his personal life aside to play on top form together with old pal Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes, Phil Neville and David Beckham who also made an emotional return.
Although the ‘Dream Team’ lost to Juventus 2-1, it was a proud moment for Gary Neville. Wayne Rooney also took to the field in a surprise move and soon found the net from a low Giggs cross.
This marks the end of a professional career for the United Legend, Gary Neville. Manchester United fans thanked you for the decades of great football to the club!
Days after they are crowned Champ19ns, Manchester United launched their new Home Kit for 2011/2012 season. You can find the new Manchester United Home Kit here.
The new home kit spots similar design to the previous season only to see the classic white collar being replaced by black and white stripes. The stripes over the shoulder are being removed too which gives a sporty look and yet gives a distinct identity of Manchester United.
As usual, the jersey is red in colour including the sleeves. However for the short-sleeved jersey, when the sleeves are being folded, reveals the similar black and white stripes as the collar.
The Manchester United 2011/2012 Home Kit is available for sale online on UNITED DIRECT at the price of £44.99 for the short-sleeved and £49.99 for the long-sleeved.
If you’re smartphone user, you’d probably be familiar with the game Angry Birds. This puzzle based game was created by Rozio back in 2009 for Apple’s iPhone. Since that time, over 12 million copies of the game have been purchased from Apple’s App Store. This touchscreen-based smartphone game are now made available for Android OS users too.
Now I’ve been playing Angry Birds on my iPhone for quite awhile now. Funny thing is, little young nephew too have been playing this game and he’s totally nuts about it. I guess, the whole world is crazy about this game as you can see with the vast number of Angry Birds merchandise every where!
Angry Birds is so popular that when I was in Shanghai, I can get the Angry Birds plush toys for less than RM20. However, Angry Birds is NOT suitable for Hokkien speaking country such as Taiwan, Malaysia and Singapore.
Angry Birds, when translated directly to Hokkien dialect, can be quite vulgar.
I’m a Buddhist (by choice), even though I haven’t gone through any proper baptism. So yes, I’m a Buddhist and I learn the teaching of Buddhism. Wesak Day is a very special day to me because it celebrates the birthday of Gautama Buddha (Siddhārtha Gautama).
Wesak Day is an annual ‘special day’ observed traditionally by Buddhists in the Indian subcontinent, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and the South East Asian countries of Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Burma, and Indonesia. Sometimes informally called “Buddha’s Birthday”, it actually encompasses the birth, enlightenment (nirvāna), and passing away (Parinirvāna) of Gautama Buddha.
Siddhārtha Gautama was a spiritual teacher who founded Buddhism. In most Buddhist traditions, he is regarded as the Supreme Buddha of our age, “Buddha” meaning “awakened one” or “the enlightened one.”
Now many people told me that Buddhism is not a religion. It’s more a philosophy. Well, I’m not here to discuss religions or believes. I’m here to share the joy of the celebration by people of different faith (buddhist and hindus) in togetherness and great harmony. It’s the only time I really feel being in the realm of 1Malaysia.
This year, I went to Thai Buddhist Chetawan Temple (Off Jalan Gasing) in PJ. Not my usual temple that I usually go during Wesak Day but it doesn’t matter as long as my action is sincere. The Thai Buddhist Chetawan Temple is a magnificent place and the place was already crowded with devotees when I got there around 10.30 in the morning.
They said a picture speaks a thousand words. So I will let my series of photos that I took with my trusty iPhone 3G *proud* tell you the story, haha. Ok, the image quality if not great but to be fair, it’s good enough to tell some stories :)
Happy Wesak Day to everyone. May everyone be blessed with peace and joy.
The last minute penalty equalizer from Wayne Rooney at Ewood Park confirms the 19th championship league title for the Red Devils. This instantly shut off all critics and non-believers of Manchester United.
Manchester United has beaten all odds to power their way to the top of the Barclays Premier League leaving the our closest rival Chelsea 6 points behind with one game in hand. Even with many rumours constantly comparing this side of SAF’s team to the treble winners of 1999, all I can say is that we won the 19th title and we are in the Champions League final, enough said.
Deep down inside, I’m still overjoyed by the fact that Manchester United have beaten their bitter rival Liverpool on a record breaking 19 league titles and the fact that we have the best manager in the world that sees 12 titles under his belt.
Not to mention, we also have got the world’s best goalkeeper, Edwin Van Der Sar and one of the best football player in the world, Ryan Giggs. Of course, the list goes on.
Congratulation to Sir Alex Ferguson for bringing yet another glory to Manchester United FC.
