Win Tickets to Malaysian Grand Prix 2012 Courtesy of Caterham F1
The F1 fever is back and with the Malaysian Grand Prix 2012 looming around the corner, Sepang International Circuit will once again be the center of attraction for millions of F1 fans from all around the world.
Malaysians are in for a treat as 2012 will be the debut season for Caterham F1 Team, a Malaysian-owned Formula One team based in the United Kingdom and the team principal is no other than Tony Fernandes.
The team originally raced in the 2010 season as Team Lotus Racing, using the Lotus name under licence from Group Lotus. In 2011, Tony Fernandes acquired Caterham Cars and applied to the Formula One commission to formally change their constructor name for the 2012 season from Lotus to Caterham (pronouce kate-rhum), while Renault changed their name to Lotus.
The team finished in the 10th spot in the Constructors Championship 2011, with three 13th place finishes; two from Trulli, the other from Kovalainen. On 17 February, the team announced that Vitaly Petrov would replace Trulli alongside Kovalainen for the 2012 season.
The 2012 season will also see the debut of Caterham CT01, designed under the leadership of the team’s technical director Mike Gascoyne which is also the third car to be produced by the team. Wrapped in gold and classic British racing green, the Caterham CT01 will be powered by Renault RS27-2012 V8 engine.
After an unsuccessful run in the Australian Grand Prix 2012 last week, Petrov and Kovalainen are hoping to make a strong comeback in the Malaysian Grand Prix in front of the Malaysian crowd.
