I Like It Wet with the Philips AquaTouch AT890

Philips AquaTouch AT890

My early morning routine is pretty much the same every day even for weekends. I wake up, brush my teeth, take a quick morning shower and then shave. But what you may not know is that I like to shave in the shower. Yes, when I’m showering.

My Philips AquaTouch AT890 is patented with AquaTec technology which allows both comfortable dry shaves and refreshing wet shave. Its rounded low friction protection heads and dual blade system adjust to the curves of my face and glide smoothly to offer great skin protection and a super smooth shave. I no longer get any skin irritation after shaving.

Wet shave with Philips AquaTouch AT890 shaver

Every morning, I jump into the shower, I whip up some shaving cream onto my chin and start shaving. I used to shave using conventional cartridge razor and the shaving experience wasn’t that fun before. Not when you end up with skin irritation from worn out razors and unwanted razor cuts… yee-ouch!

Shaving in the shower has its benefits. Washing off the shaving cream is easy and with the Philips AquaTouch AT890, cleaning the shaver itself is much easier. Just a quick rinse under running water and the AquaTouch shaver ready for the next shave. Oh ya, don’t worry about me getting electrocuted because the AquaTouch AT890 is rechargeable and totally safe to use in any wet condition.

Perhaps the best thing about the Philips AquaTouch shaver is that you can never run out of time to shave, even when it’s totally out of battery. A quick 3 minutes charge of the AquaTouch AT890 and it’s good enough for one shave. So, no more excuse to look sloppy and untidy in the morning.

Instagram Can Sell Your Photos Without Your Consent

Instagram is making their first major policy change since it was acquired by Facebook a couple of months ago and it is not exactly a good news for its 30 million registered users during this festive season.

So if you’re an Instagram user just like me, it’s time to consider shutting down your account because Instagram will is selling our photos uploaded to their platform without paying us a single cent.

Here’s an excerpt from Cnet.com, “Under the new policy, Facebook claims the perpetual right to license all public Instagram photos to companies or any other organization, including for advertising purposes, which would effectively transform the Web site into the world’s largest stock photo agency.”

Unbelievable, right? Well, read on.

If you continue to upload more photos after January 16, 2013 and then decided to quit and delete your account; you may have immediately granted Facebook irrevocable right to sell those images in perpetuity.

So, if I’m seriously considering deleting my Instagram account entirely, I will have to do it now. Or else, I will continue to upload photo like this…

Hey Instagram, you can sell this instead!

ASUS Launches Padfone 2 in Malaysia

ASUS Padfone 2 Launch

The arrival of the Padfone 2 marks yet another milestone for ASUS as the hybrid combination of an Android smartphone and a dockable tablet are truly one of a kind.

I’ve seen some pretty interesting gadgets in 2012 and the ASUS Padfone is definitely one of them. Although I’m still not very convinced of the idea of having two a smartphone and a ‘dummy’ tablet, which can only work when the smartphone is docked in, but according to ASUS, a huge percentage of Europeans and Asians find this concept acceptable.

Following the success of the original Padfone that was launched earlier this year, the latest Padfone 2 packs a bigger punch than its elder brother. The Padfone 2 is a fully featured 4.7-inch Android smartphone equipped with some of the latest and most advanced technology available on a smartphone to date.

If the Qualcomm 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM are not impressive enough, perhaps you may wanna take a look at its larger and improved 4.7-inch 720p Super IPS+ display. It uses the scratch-resistant Corning Fit Glass that delivers sharp, detailed images with accurate colours. In laymen’s term, this badass smartphone can take quite a good beating… and scratching… on the screen. It will also show you its true colour with its ultra-wide viewing angles and 550 nits brightness for stunning outdoor viewing. Nits? What’s that? Basically, the nit is a unit of visible-light intensity commonly used for most viewing display. The higher the number, the better it is.

The Padfone 2 comes equipped with a 13-megapixel camera on the back that can capture up to 100 continuous shots on burst mode. It records 1080p HD video at 30fps, or 720p HD video at 60 fps.

The Padfone 2 is also packed with a higher capacity battery. Its 2140 mAh Lithium battery boasts 16 hours 3G talk-time and 13 hours Wi-Fi web-surfing. While the Padfone 2 Station’s 5000 mAh Lithium battery extends 3G talk-time to 36 hours. The Padfone 2 Station’s internal battery has enough juice to recharge the docked Padfone 2 three times over which I find it pretty impressive.

The ASUS Padfone 2 is officially available in Malaysia from 13th December onwards and it is retailed at RM 2,799 (Padfone 2 + Padfone 2 Station) which I feel is a pretty steep price to pay for a smartphone with a very large battery bank with 10.1” display.

12-12-12: Here’s To Another Milestone

December 12th on any other calendar year is just another ordinary day. But as of this year, December 12th or 12-12-12 marks the century’s last repeating date.

I’ve been screen-capturing these dates for the past three years on my iPhone and this year will be the last time I’ll be doing it this repeating date won’t happen again anytime soon in our lifetimes.

Life has been good to me for the last three years as I got married and blessed with a beautiful baby girl. All I hope now is that the Mayans are horribly wrong with their calendar and we will live to see sunlight on 22nd December 2012.

Here’s wishing everyone a wonderful 121212. Some say that it is nothing significant but today is the last of the great repeating dates to occur in our lifetimes.

Unboxing the New Philips Aqua Touch AT890 Shaver

Shaving can be quite a chore especially when I have to shave with a rusty old cartridge razor. Thanks to my new Philips AquaTouch AT890 electric shaver, gone are the days when I have to struggle to get a clean shave every morning – not to mention, avoiding some occasional razor mishaps.

I’m truly honoured to be selected as one of the ten facially hairy men who will be putting the Philip AquaTouch on an in-depth test. Dubbed as the 50 Shaves of a Modern Man, we’ll be reviewing the AquaTouch shavers and also sharing our experience on our blogs and social media networks .

I came back home with the AquaTouch AT890 and I was all excited about. As a kid, I love unwrapping presents and thankfully as an adult now, I get to do all these unboxing reviews. Woohoo!

But before I go any further, let me quickly introduce to you the AquaTouch AT890. The Philips AquaTouch AT890 is an electric shaver with rechargeable Lithium Ion battery. A single charge will give me 50 plus minutes of cordless shaving. Best of all, the AquaTouch AT890 is optimized for wet and dry shaving. So I can do my shaving when I’m in the shower. Yes, it’s water-resistant!

Right, let’s get back to the AquaTouch AT890. Inside the box I can find these items:

• The Philips AquaTouch AT890 electric shave
• A travel pouch
• Power cable
• A cleaning brush
• Protective cap
• Manual book and Warranty card

The AquaTouch AT890 comes in a glossy and contoured shape that fits into my hand perfectly. I love the partial rubberized body which allows me to have good grip and full control of my shaving style. I like the fact that Philips actually pays attention to details and get everything done right. The travel pouch doesn’t really serve any purpose when I’m using it at home, but when I do travel, the pouch comes in really handy. A single charge and I can have enough battery for me to go on a two weeks holiday trip.

So ladies, go grab a Philips AquaTouch now. Retailing at RM299.00, It makes a perfect Christmas gift for your loved ones.
