Just had a makeover for Decoding Galvin and I’m rather pleased with it. While it is important to keep your blog as updated as possible, it is also important to give a new look to your blog every six to twelve months.
Picking the right theme for your blog is very important. Although there are plenty of free and premium WordPress themes available out there, picking the right one can help build traffic and readership.
WordPress has come a long way since 2003 and is now one of the most sophisticated, and the simplest to use, free and open source blogging tool and content management system (CMS) today. With more than 60 million websites, WordPress practically rules the web.
Ok, getting back to the topic – What is a “responsive WordPress themeâ€? A “responsive theme†is a theme that changes with the display size and stays beautiful with all sizes and pixel density of the screen. It switches its layout according to your screen resolution or sizes so that your blog views beautiful on different devices.
So, do we really need a “responsive WordPress theme†for our blog? The answer is, Yes and No. Of course, this is all based solely on my opinion.
Yes – only if you’re confident that your blog features will not interfere and mess up your custom codes. If you’re up for a clean and beautiful look.
No – if majority of your current readers are desktop and tablet PC users. Your existing monetizing banners are working great. Google Analytics can help a lot on this.
I personally have no problem moving into a responsive theme; although I will keep a close look into my Google Analytics to make sure that my new theme doesn’t affect my traffic. If you’ve just switched to a responsive theme recently, I’d suggest you do the same.
