Learn To Speak Hokkien

I swear a lot, I admit.

Swearing is good, it’s another way of anger management. I chose to swear than to pick a fight. Of course, some may say that this is such a cowardly act, but I beg to differ.

You see, swearing increases my vocabulary, especially when I swear in different dialect. Since my school days, I often hang around with a lot of machas. Until today, I still have a lot of Indian friends at my work place. Eventually, I picked up quite a number of words from them. Well, let’s not share what I’ve learned from them. Instead, I would like teach them some Hokkien words in return.

Let’s begin with Lesson #1:

Ok great lesson there! Now if you’re familiar with all the words in Lesson 1, let’s proceed to Lesson #2

Lesson #2:

I hope these simple lessons will benefit my fellow friends who taught me so many wonderful words. Let’s keep spreading the joy :)

Cheers and happy learning!! ;)

Knockoff Showdown

For years, China has been copying and manufacturing the world’s best products, from China’s Chery QQ which has a surprising similarity to the Chevy Spark and the Laiboa SR-V which looks like Honda CR-V’s twin brother. China has been openly stealing from the world.

SR-V and CR-V

But little do I know that the west is also stealing from China too. I spotted something familiar in the recent Spring 2007 Ready-to-Wear Louis Vuitton - Runway show.

Here’s the new Louis Vuitton collection by Marc Jacobs.

The leadoff accessories on LV’s Paris runway were plastic tote bags marked with a Louis Vuitton travel stamp. Now here’s the funny part. These bags remind me of those cheap bags that you can find everywhere in the streets of China. LOL, what a knockoff!

Crazy Saudi Skaters

This is one heck of a crazy Saudi stunt. The best Saudi figure skaters doing their stuff… on a busy road… with sandals! Yes! I’m not kidding. I used to think that Michelle Kwan is really cool on the ice, but these guys are better… way much better!

I strongly advise to all the kids out there not to ever try this stunt at all. The skaters in this clip are all trained professionals though they are participating in an amateurish event. LOL

DIY fullmoon for mid autumn festival

The chinese community here in Malaysia will be celebrataing the Mid Autumn Festival or also known as the Mooncake Festival tonight. To the chinese community, tonight is the night to get together with family members, enjoying the bright full moon while enjoying mooncakes and tea. But with the haze getting from bad to worst, I doubt we’ll be able to see the moon at all. Have no fear though, I’ve thought out a way on how we can still enjoy mooncakes and tea under the bright full moon even in the hazy night. Just follow the steps below and I guarantee you and your family will have a night to remember.mc_01.jpg
Get a pair of lightly coloured shade. Probably cost you RM10 from pasar malam.

Go to the internet, find a nice image of a full moon. Print it out on your colour printer.

Now cut out the moon…

… and stick it to your pair of shade.

I guarantee that you and your family member will still enjoy this festive moment despite the hazy night.

HAPPY MID AUTUMN FESTIVAL!
