Restoran Kar Hiong, Subang Jaya SS18

Looking for a great family restaurant in Subang Jaya can be rather tricky. Although there are plenty of places to go in Subang, finding the right restaurant that will please everyone is definitely not easy to come by. Thank goodness, we have found a few and we hope to find more.

RESTORAN KAR HIONG

We found this trusty little place in Subang SS18 that serves good food at a very reasonable price and we have been patronizing this place quite frequently for the past two years. Restoran Kar Hiong is a nice family restaurant that dishes out great home-cooked Chinese food.

Famous for their vinegar pork-leg and steam fish with minced ginger, they do have plenty more great dishes to offer. Obviously, we have our usual favourites but during our last visit, we decided to try something else in their menu. One great thing about their menu is that they have three different sizes for every dish. However the price for fish dishes is according to size of the fish.

GREAT CHINESE DISHES

Ordering food for four people is always easier when we do not have to worry about having too much food on the table which we can’t finish. So we decided to order four dishes and they were:

Kam Hiong Lala

Vegetarian Curry

Marmite Chicken

Egg Foo Yong (Foo Yong Tan)

We didn’t have to wait very long for our food to be served and the dishes were served almost the same time. The Kam Hiong Lala was surprisingly yummy and the Vegetarian Curry was rather mild, just nice for my sister-in-law who can’t really handle the heat. The Egg Foo Yong was simply awesome. Of all dishes, I personally like the Marmite Chicken – diced chicken meat glazed with marmite sauce stir-fried to perfection! Another thing that I need to mention is their service. They have sufficient workers to serve all the tables and every time we need a refill of tea and rice, there’ll always be someone to attend to us.

When it’s time to pay the bill, we are pleased that the whole meal only cost us less than RM60 plus rice and Chinese tea.

Restoran Kar Hiong is obviously a non-halal restaurant and it is located along Jalan Subang Utama right across the SS17 Fire Station. Now do take note that there are TWO Restoran Kar Hiong along the same row of shops and they are both from the same owner. We’ve tried both outlets and both are as good. Both restaurants are nice and clean, comfortable and most importantly, baby friendly. Yes, they do have nice and clean baby chairs so don’t worry bringing your own baby chair.
