Super-Fit Mum Maria Kang asks, ‘What’s Your Excuse?’

Super-fit mom, Maria Kang

A California-based writer and fitness blogger is currently in hot water after posting a photo of herself with her three boys on her Facebook page. Maria Kang, 32 posted a photo of herself in sports bra and shorts, showing off her well-toned body with her three boys on the floor with the caption “What’s Your Excuse?”. This sparks fury to some Facebook users (mostly women) whom accused her of being a bully and fat-shaming many mothers who are less ‘healthy-looking’ than her.

After more than 20,000 Facebook shares and receiving more than 30,000 comments, she just can’t shake away from critics calling her a bully and who demanded an apology from her. So in reply to these critics, Kang issued a faux-pology, pointing out she’s not naturally skinny and works relentlessly to stay in shape. If you interpreted her post as a dig at other mums, she says, that’s not her fault. It’s yours.

Now I’m not going to comment about these critics but rather to point out what I first see from the photo itself. It’s inspiring. It’s motivating and it’s definitely mesmerizing to see a pretty lady with a hot body and only to find out that she is a mother of three lovely boys. I do not feel angry but I actually feel motivated after seeing her photo. She is truly amazing, I thought.

I guess in life, there will always be haters and people who see things differently from us. But before we pass any judgment upon a good intention, it’s best to ask yourself why you would think otherwise.

Fart Out Loud (FOL) with A Flatulence Deodorizer

I bet no one will ever take it seriously when one have to write about this product and to give it a creative headline – as for I, failed miserably too. *snickers*

Flat-D pads are disposable flatulence deodorizer pads that are placed on the inside of your underwear to mask the smell of farts. It can be used daily or as needed and can be used with briefs and panty hose. However, it will not be effective for those who fancy wearing boxers.

So to all serial-farters out there, there’s now a solution for you to FOL (Fart Out Loud… and proud) even when you’re in a public domain. You’re probably getting a lot of eyes staring at you but rests assure that your flatulence will stink no more.

The Flat-D pads are highly recommended for those who can’t control their flatulence. This will eliminate any awkward moments in the lift when a ‘silencer’ is being released.

The Flat-D is available in a pack of 10 for $29.95.

How to tell you are short-sighted?

Many people can’t tell when they are suffering from shortsightedness. So I found this cool little trick to check whether you are shortsighted or having a normal vision.

How to Test Shortsightedness:

Normal vision people will see Einstein in the picture.

Short-sighted people will see Marilyn Monroe

If you see Einstein in the picture, walk back a few metres and you’ll see it into Marilyn Monroe.

According to Wikipedia:

Myopia is a refractive defect of the eye in which collimated light produces image focus in front of the retina when accommodation is relaxed. In simpler terms, myopia is a condition of the eye where the light that comes in does not directly focus on the retina which is in the back of the eye. Because of this, the image that one sees is out of focus when looking at a distant object but comes into focus when looking at a close object. [read more]

Luckily I still have a pretty normal vision but this test is so cool it is worth a post here on my blog.

Day 8 – Fight The Fats : Episode 3

Have you ever notice how boring a TV channel can be sometimes? The same old reruns, the boring tv host with his/her boring mumbling of boring stories. Well, thats not the case when you’re on a diet.

When I read the newspaper every other day. Usually it’s filled with ill-fated stories of murder, kidnapping, robbery and environmental decay. But the last few weeks, every thing I read in the newspaper is about food! Every page I browse through has got food pictures in it?! And when I’m back home, whenever I turn on my TV, somehow I’ll end up watching Discovery Home & Health channel instead of my usual Discovery Realtime channel.

I went for a movie the other day at GSC One Utama, while waiting for the movie hall to be open, I was checking out the movie poster. What I didn’t realised was, I was staring at Glitters Cafe food poster for a good 5 minutes! Sighhhh….

I’m in my 8th day now and I’ve already lost more than 5 kg. I’m into my 2 week now and I’ve more days to go.

I lost a few inches now and I feel good, at the same time…

I feel hungry too :P

Fight The Fats : Episode 3 – Here we go again

Ok, FTF E2 was a complete failure. Not that I haven’t lost any weight, I had gain more after that. Bummer! I had a few successful story on weight management many years ago. Since after I got to know Julea, things just got out of hand… or rather get into position… around the waist! Oh no, it’s not her fault at all that I’ve gone fatter. It’s because when I’m with her, I felt contented and nothing else matter… until now.

Lately, I’ve been having some knee problem. I love to play basketball and occasionally some futsa matches with my colleaguesl. Problem is, my knees are killing me. It’s giving me a hard time climbing the stairs and getting out of the car.

Being overweight is a bitch, so I decided to go back on my diet program and this time, it will stay, hopefully.

I’ve got the most important event coming up next year and I want to be in the fittest condition I possibly can. Losing weight and going on a diet is the toughest thing in the worldfor a man. It’s probably tougher than you having to go through STRONGEST MAN IN THE WORLD contest. Or perhaps tougher than qualifying yourself for AF5, 6, 7, 8 and etc. You need the determination and the discipline. Above all that, you need the courage. I’m not saying this just to make me feel better of myself. I’m saying this because I want to help others as well. I was a lazy fat boy once. But now I’m determined to lose those unwanted flabs and gain a new and healthy life.

Every time I mention about going on a diet, friends will laugh. Well, laugh as much as you want. Let’s see who gets the last laugh at the end. To those macho man wannabes out there, stop telling me what to do. You go to the gym, pumping those irons and working out those flabs is your way. Hate to tell you this, working out is really great, I know, but only after you lose the fats. Yeah yeah, I know, you can turn those fats to muscles but hellooo… knock knock, reality check, those muscles can turn back into fats anytime! So STFU and let me do it my own way.

To my brothers and sisters who are going on a diet right now, don’t give up! Stick to it and you can do it too.

Day 11 and my diet program is like hell…. I had this! Muahahahhahahahahahah….

The goddamn mutton curry looks so tempting that I just gotta sunk my teeth onto those succulent meat. Myself, Radiance, Farid, Aaron and Elaine was on the way up to Penang for the weekend so we decided to stop for dinner before we proceed with our journey. I suggested that we go over to Restoran Murni in SS2 for some ‘Mango Special’ and ‘Roti Hawaiian’. Dinner was good and our bill came up to roughly RM60 for 5 person. That’s alot of food :P

Current calories intake : less than 1500 Kcal.

Ok, today I started eating again. But I’m sure I didn’t exceed my limit of calories intake. Had dinner with my family, no choice. Worst is, I don’t think all this milo drinking formula is really working. For the next few days, I’m gonna be eating quite normally but I make sure that I still eat a little as I could. Diet is still on!
